1. Submit yourself reading a passage from your favourite book.
2. ???
3. Profit.

To submit you need to upload it to youtube and use the embed option. Alternatively if you want then you can upload it to your own tumblr, submit us a link and then we'll reblog it. The choice is yours! :)

Why? Because reasons!
It's interesting to see what people's favourite books are.
It's interesting to see what people's different accents are.
You love the sound of your own voice?
Who knows. Do it!

Novels, kids books, factual books. Books in hardback, paperback, on your kindle from your iPad. eBooks from your computer screen. Pop-up books, encyclopaedia, the books that changed your world or just the closest book to hand. Books in English, French, Chinese. Books in Ancient Greek or Latin. Books of any language. Books in braille or books so small they need a magnifying glass to read. That book you keep meaning to return to the library, but can't now because you've run up such a fine you're ashamed to show your face there any more and last time you went in just to browse you made eye contact with the librarian, and you knew from the way they looked at you that they knew that you knew that they knew that you still had that book, so you're not going back there again. The book you only just got back from your mate, the book you found in a puddle by the bus stop, the book you lost when you moved home and have only just found it in a box in that attic you thought you'd unpacked. The book you just bought because you heard it was good (but ultimately will be disappointed when you finished it because it was hyped by the reviews because no new books are good books), the classic from yesteryear that no one can get a hold of because it's not been in print for ages ...
Who cares which book? You do, we don't. So pick a book and read it out :)

Mark Reads ‘Atlas Shrugged’

As first seen here.

Mark’s reading of this sort of embodies the same feels I get every time Ayn Rand is mentioned.

I took a break from reading Zizek and thinking about authoritarianism to read aloud a passage on the subject of the radical left’s historical legacy of revolutionary terror - and, more to the point, how we should respond to liberal critics of it (~4:30).
